On Sunday, October 25th, we hosted the annual Swing & Sweep event, and what a fantastic way to kick off the 2026/2027 curling season! With beautiful weather, great competition, and plenty of fun, members enjoyed a full day combining our two favourite club activities: golf and curling.

The event began with nine holes of golf in a four-person team scramble, followed by four ends of curling against randomly drawn opponents. Teams combined their results from both activities, with curling points subtracted from their golf score to determine the overall standings.

Congratulations to our second-place team of Jim Kavanagh, Peter Harth, Linda Harth, and Kim Hutt-Taylor, who finished with a score of 29!

Taking home the win with an impressive score of 25 were Neil Main, Tab Clark, Shelagh Wakely, and Amy Ganser. Congratulations to our champions!

Thank you to everyone who participated and to all the staff who helped make the day such a success. Swing & Sweep was a wonderful start to another exciting curling season at Galt Country Club, and we look forward to seeing everyone back on the ice!

The Galt Country Club Curling Club Championship wrapped up this past weekend, bringing together 14 teams for an exciting celebration of the 2025/2026 season. With 6 teams competing on the championship side and 8 teams in the recreational division, it was a fantastic weekend filled with great curling, fun, and camaraderie.

The championship division delivered a thrilling final, with Team Foster edging out Team Saunders in a close match to claim the title. Team Ellacott took home the consolation honours after a strong performance against Team Main.

On the recreational side, Team Banz emerged as the overall winners, capping off a great weekend of play. Division winners included Team Kavanagh in Rec B, Team Bartlett in Rec C, and Team Taylor in Rec D.

All in all, it was a great way to cap off the season and celebrate another successful year at the club!
